Shop Managers Conference 1999, Privilege Night-club, Ibiza

The Brief:

Design and fabricate a tropical island setting complete with palm trees and beach, the setting to include lecterns and a seated chat area.

Realisation:

Due to the size of the venue a large quantity of black out material was required and installed, a sky blue Trevira cyclorama was suspended behind a 5.2m x 3.9m front projection screen surface and surround. The existing stage surface was clad in sand coloured floor covering.







Case History:

British Midland Airways

Sales Conference 2000, Donnington Park Exhibition Centre.

The Brief:

Design and fabricate a Berlin wall complete with two guard towers. The wall had to knocked down at the end of the conference after having been painted by a graffiti artist during the day.

Realisation:

The wall was constructed from carved polystyrene blocks mounted to allow easy demolition but rigid enough for the artist to work on. The guard towers contained two 8ft. X 6ft. Rear projection screen surfaces. The auditorium area within the exhibition hall was created using black drapes.

Regus

Selling the World Conference 2000 Acropolis Conference Centre, Nice.

The Brief:

Design and fabricate a 16.5m x 4.5m front projection screen surface for projection of Suite P computer graphics. The stage setting to include lecterns and seated chat area.

Realisation:

A 36m x 11m cyclorama was constructed and suspended from existing stage flying bars. A 17m x 1.22m thrust stage extension and audience access steps were constructed and the entire stage area was carpeted. A Gala dinner stage set was designed and constructed at the Sporting Club in Monaco. Team games props were designed and constructed.

Manager of the Year Awards 1999

The Brief:

Design and fabricate a stage and setting that could be used as a band stage for 9 live cabaret acts and also “reveal” the company’s top management to present awards.

Realisation:

The use of highly polished Zero truss together with Starcloth and a spaceship type reveal ramp made for a clean and futuristic look. All staging was installed and showfloor laid for the dance routines.

The Brief:

Design and fabricate a stage and setting for over 30 new club openings throughout the UK. The stage to be of a size for 12 dancers & two other actors, the setting to be capable of rotation to reveal personality pictures, logo graphics and a mirrored dance finale backdrop.

Realisation:

A series of 5 triangular setting pieces were constructed with a removable face on each for a logo lightbox reveal. The centre triangle also had a burst through face for a celebrity reveal. The entire stage and setting was constructed for touring and ease of assembly at a variety of differing venues.

UK & Ireland Sales Conference 1998 The Brief:

Design and fabricate a two storey replica of the “Houseparty” set to be constructed in three very different venues - New Century Hall, Manchester,The Sheraton Hotel, Glasgow and Telewest Arena, Newcastle.

The stage set to have three on stage entrances, a “Gunk” tank reveal and fully working household appliances.

The set to be revealed by Kabuki curtain at the top of the show.

Shop Managers Conference 1997 Playa de Las Americas, Tenerife.

The Brief:

To build 18 triangular painted and suspended setting pieces, create a “Blind Date” setting with reveal wall, build a 4 person, 3m, oval tribunal, build a 3m x 1m polystyrene logo wall, the setting to be complete with lecterns.

Realisation:

Due to the restriction of using charter airline freight capacity all component parts of the stage setting were constructed on site using locally available materials. Front projection screen material was carried from the UK and mounted into a 5m x 3.75m screen surround.







Case History:

Welcome Break

The Brief:

Design and re-fit a 40 ft. articulated trailer to create a training room environment to tour major UK motorway service stations. The facility to show video and computer graphics with sound was required.

Realisation:

The trailer was purchased and re-fitted to corporate design and identity guidelines and delivered complete with, sound system with CD & Cassette replay, VHS video replay and computer graphics relay through to Plasma monitors. The trailer has heating, air conditioning and is fully wired for both land and generator power.

Gorgeous Road Show 2001

The Brief:

To create a fashion show designed for the Chain store company Wallis & Evans to take place in 10 major stores nationwide

Realisation:

The stage was a 36x20ft steel deck construction with a 8x20ft catwalk. The logo walls were made of 4mm ply with one having curved details each side.

Battersea park Marquee

The Brief:

To recreate a chat show scene to advertise the Woman and Home Magazine.

Realisation:

The stage was a 50x30m steel deck construction, with a fully working kitchen area for cookery demonstrations. The main screen was a 10x7.5ft RP screen, with a lounge area.







Case History:

Golden Jubilee

June 2002, Portsmouth

The Brief:

To celebrate the Queens Golden Jubilee on HMS Excellent. The celebrations were to include a tour from service personal from the Royal Navy, Royal Air force and the Army. Along with live demonstrations

Realisation:

This brief was achieved by using five rolls of carpet, approximately 200 various sized flats, to create a ‘Walk of Life’ Presentation of the service personnel's life's.

View From 2002

The Brief:

To design and fabricate a fashion show to launch the new View From sports range From Marks & Spencer.

Realisation:

The show needed to be in an easy to assemble kit Form to accommodate the different stores nationwide. The stage was constructed from modular units . The back drop was made from flats and had Six different blinds attached.
